DANCE/VIDEO

For the past four years, Andee Scott has been working on a solo performance project, Woman’s Work: Reconstructions of Self. She invited five female choreographers to each create a solo for her using the concept of identity as a choreographic point of departure. The two-evening solo performance
features work Scott developed in collaboration with Jeanine Durning of New York; Lenka Flory and Simone Sandroni of Italy/Czech Republic; Claudia Lavista of Mazatlan, Mexico; Lee Kyung-eun of Seoul, Korea; and Elizabeth Gillaspy of Fort Worth, Texas.

Scott spent approximately one month in the home place of each of the collaborators, observing these remarkable artists on their own soil with their companies, their friends, and their families. Footage from the international rehearsal process appears throughout each of the evenings.
